This summer, movements are up against a wall.
Major political events, nonstop media cycles, and public fatigue are making it harder than ever for campaigns to break through.
The same tactics that once worked are no longer enough, leaving many groups with clear goals and targets but without tactics that can cut through, capture attention, and move people to act.
Beyond the Noise is a 3-part online training where teams design creative, high-impact tactics that can break through, make their issue relevant, and build momentum toward winning.
This training is offered by the Ayni Institute in collaboration with the Climate Resistance Incubator and is led by Ivan Marović, one of the leaders of the Serbian student movement Otpor! and author of The Path of Most Resistance: A Step by Step Guide to Planning Nonviolent Campaigns.
What you’ll do
Work in a team to:
- Identify your target audience and the behavior you want to change
- Clarify the message your tactic needs to carry
- Learn how to use tactics to move your goals forward
- Develop multiple potential tactics designed to break through and get attention
- Select and refine one tactic to move forward
- Build from that tactic to generate momentum and move your issue toward a concrete win
